A region or area drained by a set of streams and rivers. The continental divide separating the rivers draining into Lake Erie and those draining into the Ohio and Mississippi rivers runs along through Summit Lake, just to the south of Cascade Locks Park. The locks in the park were part of a series of locks that helped carry boats up to and down from the high elevation at the divide.
